Klean Kanteen

I began replacing our plastic water bottles a while back and begun by purchasing the cheaper aluminum bottles with straws for the children. After weeks of hand washing, I purchased the Klean Kanteen sippy bottles that could be put into the dishwasher with no ill effects. I thought the narrow neck would capture food particles but was pleasantly surprised with how clean the bottles were after a run in the dishwasher.

The 12 oz. Klean Kanteens came with Advent spouts which are very child friendly and virtually leak proof. I appreciated that each bottle came with 2 Advent tops since my children tend to use their cups as teething toys. The larger bottles came with a plastic screw top so I ordered the stainless steel loop top and the sports bottle tops. After a few uses of the sports top there were rough teeth marks from the children using their teeth to open the bottle. Also, they make a squealing sound while sucking the water out of the bottle. Rumor has it the new sports tops are quieter so Klean Kanteen must have thought this a problem as well. The stainless steel tops are nice and seal the bottle very well.

For children, this is one of the best sippy cups money can buy. I would highly recommend these bottles for adults as well. The 18 and 27 oz bottles fit into standard sized bike bottle cages so even the bike enthusiasts can drink water free from plastic toxins.

I also bought the neoprene covers for the bottles which is nice in the summer as they absorb the condensation from the cooler liquids. It also makes them easy to hang on the buggy when walking. I had originally ordered the covers to distinguish between whose bottle was whose but found a thick colored rubber band around the neck of each Klean Kanteen to be easier. The rubber band holds up well in the dishwasher while you have to remove the neoprene cover and wash it separately.
