Advent Calendar

This year, we made boxes to help us countdown to Christmas. I numbered each box and placed an Advent Idea inside.

Here is a list of some ideas if you want to do an Idea Advent instead of a Gift-A-Day Advent.

Play outside all together
Build a snowman – if there is no snow, be creative!
Take a moonlit walk in the snow
Have dinner by candlelight
Make a list of 20 things you are thankful for
Bake cookies and give them to a neighbor
Give a gift to someone anonymously
Have a Christmas tea or cocoa party
Watch a Christmas movie with a special snack
Make a phone call to cheer someone
Take a ride to look at holiday lights
Cut out paper snowflakes
Make caramel corn
Decorate cut-out cookies
Sing and dance to Christmas carols
Write a holiday note to someone you haven’t talked to in awhile
Wrap a gift box for Jesus (Donate the gift to a local charity)
Make homemade soup together
Cuddle under a blanket with only Christmas lights on and share memories
Write down your 5 best memories from the past year – save them to read next year
Sing all the verses of a favorite Christmas Carol
Make a special Christmas card and mail it to someone you love
Make homemade Christmas candy
Invite someone new over
Thank God for giving you the gift of His Son
Make snow cream
Go on a scavenger hunt
Play a game as a family
Write your own family Christmas book
Decorate or create your own ornaments
